Series Description
What would you call a happy day? Maybe a day with no traffic or a day when your boss gives you an unexpected bonus. How about the day you married or a child was born? All of these are happy days, but this month, we’re talking with preschoolers about happy days because Jesus is alive. Easter is the happiest of happy days; every day can be happy because Jesus is alive. What an awesome privilege we have to share the good news with preschoolers that Jesus is alive!

Week 1 (April 6)
Mary Pours Perfume on Jesus
Story Focus: Everyone can be thankful for Jesus. There is a special dinner to celebrate Jesus. Mary, one of Jesus’ friends, wants to show Jesus how much she loves Him. So Mary pours an expensive bottle of perfume all over Jesus’ feet and then wipes His feet with her hair. When some people see Mary do this, they do not understand. But Jesus knows Mary was doing something VERY special for Him. This was such a happy day for Mary, because Mary got to be with Jesus and show Jesus that she loves Him and that she is thankful that Jesus is alive.
Week 2 (April 13)
Palm Sunday
Story Focus: We can celebrate Jesus. People in Jerusalem hear that Jesus is coming. The people are so excited because they have heard about the amazing things Jesus has done. So, a lot of people line up on the road to celebrate Jesus. People spread their coats and palm branches on the road to make a special path for Jesus. Others waved palm branches in the air to celebrate Jesus. When they see Jesus coming down the road on a donkey, they shout ‘Hosanna!’ It is such a happy day! They were so happy that Jesus is alive!
Week 3 (April 20)
Easter
Story Focus: Jesus is alive. The Easter story begins with God’s love for us. God loved us so much God sent His Son Jesus to be our friend forever. One night when Jesus is having dinner with his friends, the disciples, Jesus tells them He has to go away but He will come back. After dinner, Jesus goes to a garden to pray. Some angry people come and take Jesus away. They hurt Jesus, and He dies. All of Jesus’ friends are so sad. They put Jesus’ body in a tomb and roll a big stone in front of it. But three days later, the stone rolls away, and Jesus is alive! Jesus came back just like He said He would! On Easter, we celebrate the happiest day because Jesus is alive!
Week 4 (April 27)
Breakfast on the Beach
Story Focus: Jesus wants to be our friend forever. One day, after Jesus died and came back, Jesus’ friends are fishing, and they see someone on the beach. It is Jesus! Peter is so excited that he jumps in the water and swims to the shore. The other disciples follow in the boat. When the disciples make it to the beach, they see that Jesus is cooking breakfast over a fire. There is fish and some bread. Jesus shows them that He is alive and that He wants to be their friend forever and ever.
